Giving back is a part of who we are at ENMAX and volunteering is a key component. During National Volunteer Week in April, employees contributed to several initiatives to support the communities where we live, work and serve.

“Our team members volunteered their time to give back in a number of ways, including sorting used clothing and collecting donations for community organizations to help make a difference for people who need it the most,” says Krista Moroz, Manager, Community Partnerships and External Relations.

“Whether it’s giving back as a group or individually, our team members showed up to make a positive impact in our community.”

“Creating craft kits for the Alberta Children’s Hospital (ACH) was an opportunity I couldn’t pass on during National Volunteer Week,” says Rima Gill, Team Lead, System Operation and Asset Performance Administration at ENMAX. “The ACH is near and dear to my heart. When my daughter was hospitalized, my family and I witnessed the amazing care and medical attention the ACH staff provided. By creating these craft kits, I wanted to give back and hopefully brighten a child’s day.”

Here are highlights of recent team member contributions:

  • 85 volunteers participated in National Volunteer Week in-person events.
  • Four large bags of clothing and 50 pairs of boots were donated to the Calgary Drop-In Centre.
  • 650 craft kits were created for the Alberta Children’s Hospital and Children’s Cottage.
  • 200 hygiene kits were built for the Aboriginal Friendship Centre of Calgary.
  • Team members are encouraged to drop off new or gently used kids’ sports equipment. With every piece collected, ENMAX donates $5 to KidSport Calgary.
