Safety is a value we live every day. ENMAX was proud to be recently recognized for this commitment with a President’s Award for Safety Excellence in Distribution from Electricity Canada.
Every year, Electricity Canada recognizes outstanding performances in occupational health and safety of utility companies across the country. These companies demonstrate an investment in safety management systems, have a proactive health and safety culture and prioritize team member well-being.
“Congratulations to the entire ENMAX team for being awarded Electricity Canada’s safety excellence award. Our team prioritizes safety above all else,” said Jana Mosley, President, ENMAX Power. “This award belongs to all team members who make safety our top priority. We continue to look for ways to ensure that everyone goes home as healthy as they came to work.”
The President's Award for Safety Excellence in Distribution is given to electricity service providers that achieved a top ranking in Total Recordable Injury Frequency (TRIF). By adhering to the highest safety standards in 2021, ENMAX was the top performer in the category with a TRIF of 0.74.
“Safety is at the core of everything we do at ENMAX, and this award recognizes the collective commitment and efforts of all team members,” said Jason Doering, Vice President, Corporate Operational Services. “While we know that human error happens, we continuously improve by identifying hazards and learning from incidents and near misses to keep our workplaces as safe as possible.”
ENMAX is part of the category of utilities with 1,500 or more employees, such as Hydro One and Ontario Power Generation. ENMAX and all Electricity Canada members report statistical safety data on a semi-annual basis.
The award reception took place on November 23, 2022 in Ottawa.
