The floating electricity rate* can rise and fall every month based on market conditions. This means that even if you were to use the same amount of electricity every month, your bill could be very different.
When you signed up for EasyMax® can affect how the floating rate* is calculated.
If you signed up before June 1, 2012
The floating electricity rate* is the same rate charged by your Distribution Company or its designate, pursuant to the Regulated Rate* Option Regulation.
If you signed up between June 1, 2012 and June 28, 2015
The floating electricity rate* follows the hourly pool price and also includes trading charges, unaccounted for energy and line loss as well as a transaction fee.
If you signed up after June 28, 2015
The floating rate* is the residential regulated rate option rate posted by your regulator and is available for a set term outlined in your Agreement.
Yes, EasyMax® has the option to sign up for electricity or gas only. You might want this if you are not responsible for your electricity or natural gas service, if you live in a gas co-op or are on a contract with another retailer for electricity or natural gas.
No, EasyMax® does not have any early termination fees. Just provide one month's notice to cancel.
Yes! You can switch between the fixed and floating rates for both electricity and natural gas monthly2.
You can switch either online or by contacting us at 310-2010. Your new rate will become effective immediately. Remember – you can only switch to the energy plans that are available at the time you make your switch and you may not be able to switch back to the energy plan you used to have if it's no longer available for sign up.
If you signed up for EasyMax® before June 1, 2012
If your plan expires you may automatically be continues onto a floating electricity and/or natural gas rate* by ENMAX Energy.

If you signed up for EasyMax® after June 1, 2012
When your term expires, your plan may be continued by ENMAX Energy at the longest term, fixed-rate* energy plan then available.

Yes, you can add multiple natural gas sites to your EasyMax® agreement.
To add a gas site, please call us at 310-2010.
If you choose an energy plan with a fixed electricity rate*, the rate you are charged for your electricity will not rise and fall based on market conditions for the length of your term while you remain on that energy plan.
Other costs related to your bill such as administration fees, access fees or transmission charges may change, but your electricity rate* will remain the same.

If you change energy plans, your new rate will become effective immediately. You can only change to an energy plan which is available at the time your elect to switch.
ENMAX Energy may make changes to current energy plans or introduce new energy plans at any time based on the market and the needs of our customers.
However, once you sign up on a fixed rate* energy plan, that rate is guaranteed not to change for the term you signed up for, while you remain on that energy plan.
On EasyMax®, ENMAX Energy offers a choice of fixed electricity rates* based on one, three or five year terms.
Choosing the EasyMax® fixed-rate that's right for you is not unlike choosing other term-based products for your home such as mortgages. It's really a question about your level of confidence in energy prices.
A shorter term (e.g. one year) may offer a lower rate initially, however market conditions could change and you may need to renew at a higher rate than what is available today.
A longer fixed-rate term, while higher, would offer price stability and potentially greater protection over the long-term.
All customers are free to purchase natural gas services from the default supply provider or from a retailer of their choice and to purchase electricity services from the regulated rate provider or from a retailer of their choice. The delivery of natural gas and electricity to you is not affected by your choice. If you change who you purchase natural gas services or electricity services from, you will continue receiving natural gas and electricity from the distribution company in your service area. ‡ When the term of this Energy Plan expires, you will automatically switch to the longest term Fixed Electricity Energy Plan available. You can always switch Energy Plans once per month or cancel on one month’s notice.
