ENMAX contributes $100,000 to COVID-19 Community Response Fund

/ Calgary

The delivery of electricity service is essential, and any time ENMAX is faced with circumstances outside of normal business operations, we take proactive steps to ensure the continuity of safe, reliable electricity service and to support the health and well-being of our customers and communities.

As part of our ongoing community response to the COVID-19 pandemic, ENMAX is contributing $100,000 to the COVID-19 Community Response Fund. Established jointly by The City of Calgary, the Calgary Emergency Management Agency, and United Way of Calgary and Area, this Fund has been created to help enable the many community agencies working diligently to keep Calgarians safe and supported in these unprecedented times. ENMAX’s contribution to the fund will support agencies working with vulnerable populations that are at increased risk of impact due to the pandemic.

“The health and well-being of our communities is everyone’s top priority right now, and community agencies serve a vital role responding to the essential needs arising from the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Gianna Manes, President and CEO of ENMAX. “ENMAX has a long and proud history of support for the United Way and by joining with other agencies and organizations, together, we can make a powerful and positive impact in these difficult circumstances.”

“The contribution from ENMAX has come at a crucial time for our community,” said Karen Young, President and CEO of United Way of Calgary and Area. “This support enables us to make a difference in our city by ensuring agencies on the ground can continue their critical work in this time of need.”

Our contribution to the COVID-19 Community Response Fund is in addition to $50,000 that we recently donated to our community service agency partners.
