Safety at ENMAX Corporation

ENMAX believes safety is more than a list of rules to follow. It is a core value and an important part of the ENMAX culture. We believe that there is nothing more important than the health and safety of our employees, those contractors who work with us, and the public.

Working together with this focus on safety, we have a goal of an injury-free ENMAX that we know we can achieve and maintain while providing a variety of services to our customers.

for power crews, safety is priority

Safety Performance

Whether our employees or contractors work in the field or in the office, safety is the priority, and we actively promote participation from our staff in developing our policies and in extending our safety culture to helping protect the public.

ENMAX measures safety performance in several ways, including tracking of incidents and reporting of hazards and near misses. These allow us to identify trends before they become safety issues and ensure our goal of an injury-free ENMAX can be achieved.

These methods also extend to our work in the field to protect the public. All tasks we undertake consider public safety at all times. Through the use of proper barriers, traffic control and notification, we can complete work around our electrical infrastructure and ensure people are free from harm.

Mission Zero - An Injury Free ENMAX

The safety vision at ENMAX is Mission Zero: An Injury-Free ENMAX. ENMAX believes that all workplace injuries and illnesses can be prevented through daily commitment to safety from all ENMAX employees and contractors.

Our Safety Team

At ENMAX, we have a dedicated occupational health and safety team that helps educate and protect the public as well as our employees. This team visits our field crews and responds to public incidents involving electrical equipment to help companies learn from issues that may occur, and also facilitate further training on working around power lines.

Customers are free to purchase natural gas services or electricity services from a retailer of their choice. For a list of retailers, visit ucahelps.alberta.ca or call 310-4822 (toll free in Alberta).
