Since 2009, we’ve helped Albertans use pure sunlight to help power their homes, schools and businesses.
To date, we’ve installed over 600 systems representing approximately 50 per cent of the installed solar in Alberta.

The panels and equipment we use for our solar installations are sourced from industry leading manufacturers. We’re committed to selecting hardware that offers high value long-term reliability and warranty support.
Your home solar system will be connected to the grid so you won’t need additional space in your home for batteries. And considering the reliability of Alberta’s grid, most homeowners choose to avoid additional costs of battery storage.
You’ll be able to check in and monitor your system online or by smart phone app and track how much electricity you’re generating.
Our Solar installation includes assistance with permits and micro-generation application, equipment, installation and commissioning. We work with the following ENMAX Authorized Solar Installers:
Will I save money?
People choose solar for a number of reasons, from supporting new ideas and technologies to reducing their impact on the environment or becoming more self-sufficient.
If you’re looking at solar as a way to save money, it may not live up to your expectations. For example, while you may no longer have to pay for your electricity from the grid while the solar system is generating (depending on the size of your system), you would still be charged for fees related to being connected to the grid such as Transmission and Distribution fees.
How much of a rebate can I expect?
If you qualify, the amount of your rebate will depend on the size of your system.
The Alberta Government rebate is based on the size of the installation and set at $0.75 per Watt. This means that if your system is four kilowatts (kW), your rebate could be $3,000.
You should know that the maximum rebate is the lesser of $10,000 or 30 per cent of eligible system cost..
You can learn more about rebates on the
Energy Efficiency Alberta website
What does it cost to install a solar system on my home?
How much your system will cost will depend on a few factors, including the number of panels and any additional equipment required. Current solar pricing varies, but may be in the range of $2.60 to $3.20 per Watt installed.
In addition, you should also consider the condition of your roof and any required electrical upgrades to wiring when thinking about costs.
Do I need to connect my system to the grid?
Yes. Because our systems do not have battery storage, you’ll need to be connected to the grid so that you’ll continue to have electricity during the night or when sunlight is limited.
Our solar installation includes assistance to get your system connected to your local grid.
If you live in Calgary and your solar system was not installed by ENMAX solar or our contractors you can

How much electricity can I generate?
Alberta’s Micro-Generation Regulation allows you to install a system able to generate enough electricity to cover all or a portion of electricity you use.
If you produce more electricity than you use at any point in time, the extra will be returned to the grid and any credit you receive will be based on an agreement with your electricity provider.
