During the colder winter months electricity will not be disconnected. However a load limiter or electricity limiter will be attached to your meter during those times.
Load limiters or electricity limiters reduce the flow of electricity. The limiter allows your furnace fan and a few lights to run so you can have heat during the winter.
If too much electricity is used, the limiter will shut off electricity completely.

Turn off ALL electrical devices (appliances, lights. etc).
Locate your electric meter.
Find the orange plunger underneath the load/electricity limiter.
To reset the limiter, pull the plunger out and push it back in hard.

The delivery of natural gas and electricity to you is not affected by your choice. If you change who you purchase natural gas services or electricity services from, you will continue receiving natural gas and electricity from the distribution company in your service area.
