The Charge Up program is a small-scale electric vehicle charging pilot that will help us understand how Calgarians use EVs, and the potential impact they’ll have on our electricity system.
Under this program, we’re helping offset the cost of EV chargers for a limited number of eligible homes and businesses in Calgary so we can monitor changes in electricity demand. We’re committed to ensuring our network is ready to meet the changing needs of our customers.
Our residential and commercial programs are full. Thank you to everyone for their interest and helping us understand more about electric vehicles and our network.

What is Charge Up?
Charge Up is a pilot project launched by ENMAX Power to support the installation of 60 EV chargers within the City of Calgary.
Why is ENMAX running a pilot?
We see our customers adopting electric vehicles in increasing numbers and recognize that as a utility we need to be prepared for the impacts to our electricity system and changing customer needs related to EV charging. Data from the chargers will allow us to better understand local customer behaviors and the impacts of EV charging on the distribution grid.
When does the pilot start?
The pilot will be open for enrollment on October 18, 2019 and will run for two years, or until the target of 60 chargers has been reached.
What type of charging is included in Charge Up?
Charge Up includes level two home charging and public level two and DC fast charging.
Who is eligible for the pilot?
Calgary homeowners and businesses operating within the City of Calgary are eligible for this pilot. All pilot participants must agree to share data from the chargers with ENMAX Power. The pilot is not available to residents of multi-unit residential buildings at this time.
How do I sign up?
If you are interested in participating in the pilot, fill out our project form. A member of our team will be in touch to provide more details and answer your questions.
