EV Charging is increasing.

Charge Up’s second phase is now underway. Until December 2022, a group of Calgary EV owners are participating in a smart charging pilot to help us get a better understanding of charging behaviour and the factors that influence it.

Eighty per cent of EV charging occurs at 5 p.m., when electricity demand on the grid is highest.

There are 3,000 EVs currently on Calgary roads.

ENMAX forecasts indicate there could up to 200,000 EVs on Calgary roads by 2035.

Thank you for the incredible response. This phase is now full and participants are helping us get a better understanding of charging behaviour.

Together we’ll gather insights that will help optimize the grid and increase capacity for EVs on our system.
