​There are several factors that could be impacting the total charges you see on your bill, including (but not limited to) the type of agreement you have signed up for, the manner in which you are consuming energy and rate changes.  Contact our commercial customer care team to discuss your invoice in greater detail.

​Your current energy agreement is billed based on updated settlement information each month. As the various Wires Service Providers in the province obtain better information regarding the consumption in their territories, they pass this information along to retailers who then flow it down to the consumer.  These prior period adjustments may be either a credit or a debit to your account. The settlement cycle is typically completed 5 months after the month of flow has ended. For example, January's service period would typically be settled by June of the same year.

​ENMAX Energy Corporation is a retailer that provides a rate for the commodity portion of your invoice.  The energy portion of your bill is typically a negotiated rate and is not regulated in the province of Alberta. The transmission and distribution systems across the province are owned and managed by individual Wires Service Providers (electricity) or Load Distribution Companies (natural gas), which bill regulated delivery fees for your site. These delivery charges reflect the cost of getting the energy from the point of generation to your business.

​Late payment fees are assessed if a payment is processed by ENMAX after the due date indicated on your invoice. The calculation for these fees is outlined in the terms and conditions of your current agreement. Please refer to the section regarding payment processing timelines for more information on how to avoid these fees.

​Commercial customers on an energy contract have several convenient options for making payments on their account. Payments can be made to ENMAX Commercial through the following methods:

• Online (Please select ENMAX Commercial as the Payee)
• Telephone
• Cheque
• Pre-Authorized Payments (via chequing account)
• At your bank

​Any payment made to ENMAX (except Pre-Authorized Payments), requires processing time in order for both banks to complete the transaction. ENMAX recommends allowing between 3-5 business days for payments to be processed by the due date of your invoice.

​ENMAX Energy is able to offer electricity service agreements to all sites within Alberta, with the exception of Medicine Hat and Rural Electrification Association (REA) territories.

​We provide a Month to Month, or Evergreen, component to most standard electricity service agreements to enable our customers a little more time when their contract expires to make an informed decision on their future retail energy requirements. This option can be cancelled upon 30 days written notice with no early termination fees by either party.

​You can either complete and submit the Contract amendment form or contact the commercial customer care team to help your with this request.

​You may choose to assign your current energy agreement to a new party with written notice to ENMAX Energy. Note, ENMAX Energy retains the right to refuse the transfer of your electricity and/or natural gas service agreement to a new party based on the credit worthiness of the new business.
