ENMAX appoints new board member

ENMAX is pleased to announce the appointment of Laura Formusa to the ENMAX Board. Ms. Formusa brings extensive experience and knowledge from the electricity industry that will serve ENMAX well in its mission to safely and responsibly provide electricity and energy services to people, businesses and communities, and provide value for our Shareholder and the citizens of Calgary.

Ms. Formusa has more than 30 years of experience in the utilities industry. In 1980 she joined Hydro One Inc., and took on roles of increasing responsibility, including Vice-President, General Counsel and Secretary, and ultimately, as President and Chief Executive Officer of Hydro One Inc. from 2007 until her retirement at the end of 2012. She serves on the Boards of 407 International Inc., the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences, Equitable Life Insurance Company of Canada where she is Chair of the Governance Committee, and on the Board of Governors of York University. She has also served on the Boards of DHX Media Ltd., the Canadian Electricity Association, and the Banting Research Foundation.

Named in the Women’s Executive Network’s Canada’s Most Powerful Women Top 100 list, she is also a founding member of the Women of Energy group, which seeks to advance women’s issues and to create critical networking opportunities for high potential women in the energy sector.

In addition, the ENMAX Board and executive team would like to thank exiting board members Mike Harris, Don Lenz and Councillor Brian Pincott for their many years of service and contribution to our organization.
