ENMAX Corporation (ENMAX) announced today the establishment of a new scholarship for eligible University of Calgary engineering students as well as a new business development fund, in partnership with the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, to support Calgary's dynamic and diverse small business community. These investments in education and the local business community are in recognition of the legacy of ENMAX's former President and CEO, Gianna Manes, who led the company from 2012 until June 2020.
Scholarship details
The ENMAX ENPower Scholarship will be awarded to an undergraduate student entering their second, third or fourth year in the University of Calgary Schulich School of Engineering and actively participating in the Women in Science and Engineering (WISE) student group, which helps women succeed in the fields of science and engineering.
The $5,000 scholarship will be awarded based on academic merit and financial need to one student per year for a duration of five years.
Fund details
The ENMAX Amplifier, a new business development fund created in partnership with the Calgary Chamber of Commerce, will be awarded to an existing small business in Calgary focused on evolving their business to the next level and demonstrating leadership and innovation in their industry.
The $25,000 fund will be granted to one small business per year for a duration of two years and will be administered by the Chamber of Commerce.
