ENMAX CEO hands reins over to Haskayne student to be CEO for a day

Calgary, Alta. – Media are invited to join ENMAX President and CEO, Gianna Manes, as she temporarily hands over the reins to the University of Calgary's Haskayne School of Business student, Pauline Anunciacion, who will act as ENMAX's chief during the nationwide CEO x 1 Day event on February 9. Throughout the day Anunciacion will be briefed on the progress of several of ENMAX's business activities, and tour some of ENMAX's facilities to better understand how ENMAX makes, moves and markets energy and meets customer needs.

The path to business success is a journey that takes insight, experience and opportunities," said Manes. "The students participating in this event have already demonstrated a strong business acumen and are on track to be the business leaders of tomorrow. I'm honoured to provide insight about my role and responsibility to a future business leader in our city."

This third annual event is organized by executive search firm Odgers Berndtson and provides a glimpse into what leadership looks like at the top. Eighteen students have been selected across Canada to participate in 2016.

"This is an opportunity of a lifetime and I value the many doors it will open for me," said Anunciacion. "Working alongside Ms. Manes at the helm of such a respected and successful organization is a tremendous learning advantage and this is where I can gauge and push for my own leadership potential."

Anunciacion is a fifth-year Bachelor of Commerce student with a major in Business Process Management, a course of study that improves corporate performance through effective management of people, products, services, operations and technology.
