No, cutting the power may lead to serious damage or other issues. Simply contact your energy company and tell them when you’re moving. They’ll manage the transfer to the new owners.

No, there’s no need to cutoff any utilities including natural gas when you move. When you inform your provider about your moving dates, they should make sure that your bill reflects when you are no longer responsible for those utilities.

If you’ve given your energy company enough notice (can differ based on agreements) they will be responsible for the power, or the new owner will take over responsibility on their possession date.

When you set up your energy for your new business, be sure to state the exact day you will be moving in. Your billing will begin on that date, and you should not be charged for the previous owner’s energy use. ​
