​ENMAX Power, Revenue Metering owns and operates a fully functional meter shop, currently servicing approximately 500,000 customers. We also provide all meter shop activities to other municipalities.

ENMAX Power, Revenue Metering operates under the Electricity and Gas Inspection Act and Regulations (E&G Act). The E&G Act sets out the verification and reverification period and limit of errors for all meters used for measurement in Canada.

ENMAX Power Revenue Metering mandates are:

• Ensure the accuracy and integrity of ENMAX's installed electric revenue meters and metering installations.
• Ensure all revenue metering equipment purchased and installed meets all regulatory and safety requirements.
• Develop and maintain revenue metering guidelines and standards for all metering equipment installed on the system.
• Maintain and influence Measurement Canada's Accreditation Program.
• Maintain the Measurement Canada Compliance sample program and perform the due diligence necessary to ensure all in-service meters comply with the legal accuracy requirements.
• Ensure the Meter Inventory Management System meets the needs of all users.
• Ensure mandatory regulatory and contractual metering work is completed on time and within budget.

This means that ENMAX Power's meter shop adheres to Quality Assurance Standards in performing seal date extension testing, re-verification of electrical meters, handling repairs and delivery of service.

Our meter shop is responsible for all aspects of electrical meter management, including:

• guidelines and standards
• purchasing
• inventory control
• testing and maintenance
• verification and reverification
• new installation
• removal or permanent disconnect of meters
