OVERVIEW

ENMAX Power Corporation (ENMAX Power) owns and operates ENMAX No. 37 Substation located at 5099 68 Street SE. ENMAX No. 37 Substation commenced operations over 50 years ago and provides electrical services to residential and commercial properties in Calgary’s Erin Woods community, Foothills Industrial and surrounding areas.

In 2022, ENMAX Power was granted approval by the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC), among other things, to replace an existing transformer at ENMAX No. 37 Substation with a higher capacity transformer, construct a new building and extend the fence line (Project).

The original approval required construction of the Project to be completed in 2024; however, procurement and engineering design timelines will delay completion of the Project. ENMAX Power, therefore, intends to apply to the AUC for a time extension until 2025.
