Understanding Your Bill

Your monthly bill details more than just the energy you use. It also includes fees and charges for maintaining the networks and infrastructure, and in some cases city services like water or garbage collection.

WHERE YOUR MONEY GOES

Our utility bill captures all the work required to make sure customers have reliable energy now and into the future, day and night, every day of the year.

TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION

These charges are set by the Alberta Utility Commission and support the maintenance and building of the electricity wires and natural gas lines that move energy around Alberta.

YOUR ENERGY USE

You pay for the energy you use. The price can rise or fall based on market conditions.

MUNICIPAL SERVICES

In some areas in Alberta, your bill may also include municipal fees for water, wastewater/drainage, and waste/recycling each month.
