ENMAX Power is committed to ensuring the communities we serve are engaged and updated about projects in their neighbourhoods.
The City of Calgary has requested that ENMAX Power Corporation (ENMAX Power) alter its existing 39.82L transmission line (39.82L) to accommodate the construction of a single lane overpass over Stoney Trail (Highway 201) to connect 80 Avenue NE (the Northeast Stoney Crossing). To accommodate the Northeast Stoney Crossing, ENMAX Power is proposing to relocate one wood pole within the existing alignment of 39.82L which runs along Stoney Trail (the Project).
ENMAX Power is proposing to remove one wood pole and replace it with a new wood pole approximately 25 meters south of its current location, within the existing alignment. This alteration will enable the safe construction and use of the Northeast Stony Crossing, while continuing to provide ENMAX Power customers with safe and reliable electricity.
The existing pole is approximately 20 meters in height. The new pole will be approximately 25 meters in height to allow for the required clearance above the planned overpass.
Temporary access accommodations and road closures may take place periodically during construction. ENMAX Power will work with stakeholders and The City of Calgary to minimize the impact to residences, businesses, and commuters in the area. There are no planned power outages impacting customers as part of the Project.
We are committed to being a responsible corporate neighbour. Our commitment includes providing timely and meaningful engagement with stakeholders about our projects. We provide opportunities for stakeholders, including residents, occupants and landowners, to be informed about our projects, and to engage with us from the planning phase through construction and beyond
