Today ENMAX Corporation is releasing a document to the citizens of Calgary that describes the relationship ENMAX has with its shareholder and Calgarians, provides a statement of principles under which Calgarians can expect ENMAX to be operated, and outlines the steps that ENMAX will be taking to ensure these principles are followed. The Tone at the Top principles that the ENMAX Board and Executive have adopted states:
“The Board and Executive of ENMAX understand that how we earn profits is equally as important as the level of profits we earn. We are accountable to our Shareholder and the citizens of Calgary for ensuring prudence in our management of the company and for demonstrating this through the highest standard of Shareholder engagement, oversight and transparency,” said Charles Ruigrok, interim President and CEO, ENMAX Corporation.
The express statement of these principles will provide even greater clarity for ENMAX Directors, Management, and Employees on matters such as employee and stakeholder events, air travel, meals and entertainment, sponsorships, and supplier-paid events.
“ENMAX will live by these principles and will evaluate our existing policies and procedures to ensure they are aligned with them,” added Mr. Ruigrok.
