Regulated Rate Fluctuations

ENMAX Power Corporation is responsible for providing full electricity service, including the supply of electricity to eligible customers that have not yet chosen a retailer.

ENMAX Energy Corporation administers this service on behalf of ENMAX Power.

The Regulated Rate Option (RRO) is offered to residential and small business customers who consume less than 250,000 kWh/year.

The Regulated Rate for electricity fluctuates every month to reflect changes in the wholesale electricity market using a process approved by the Alberta Utilities Commission (AUC). By far, the biggest influence on the monthly rate is supply and demand.

The rate also includes an electric energy charge, which is a fixed charge for costs related to the supply of electricity, and an administration charge for billing, customer care and administration.
