Project Overview
The City of Calgary has requested ENMAX Power to relocate existing electrical utilities in conflict with the future Green Line LRT alignment. Removing these conflicts ensures the alignment will be ready for major Green Line construction.
Utility work will involve various stages within the Ramsay area. Work began in April 2019 and will continue into Q4 of 2020.
The project includes the following:
- Modifications and upgrades to current electrical infrastructure
- Installation of steel pipes and casings for underground cable
- Replacement of some existing distribution poles
- Installation of new manholes and underground connecting ducts
- Rerouting of underground connections
The following locations will be impacted by construction activities, to include crossing at the adjacent CP railway tracks:
- 12 Street SE and 17 Avenue SE
- Blackfoot Trail SE and 15 Street SE
- 34 Avenue SE and Ogden Road SE
ENMAX Power and the City of Calgary are working to ensure the work plan maintains the flow of vehicle and pedestrian traffic. Accommodations will be in place to include fencing, proper signage and road plates along construction routes.
Please note, this work could produce various noise levels and minor vibrations during civil construction activities.
Access to all residential and commercial buildings will be maintained throughout construction.
Businesses and residents directly impacted by construction activities will be notified in advance by ENMAX Power Customer Relations team.
