Victoria Park Infrastructure Relocation

Project Overview

The City of Calgary has requested ENMAX Power to relocate underground electrical utilities associated with ENMAX Substation No. 5 located at 302 10 Avenue SE to accommodate the future Green Line LRT route.

Utility work in the Victoria Park area will occur in various stages beginning directly within Substation No. 5 and surrounding manholes. These manholes tie into Substation No. 5 from 9, 10 and 11 Avenue SE between 1 Street SE and 4 Street SE.

Project work includes the following:

  • Modifications within ENMAX Substation No. 5 to prepare for rerouting underground connections
  • Installing new manholes and underground connecting ducts
  • Installing cables in existing manholes and duct banks adjacent to ENMAX Substation No. 5

Work inside the manholes will impact traffic east of Macleod Trail SE, along 10 Avenue SE and 3 Street SE. Both vehicle and pedestrian traffic accommodations are in place.

Please note, this work could produce various noise levels and minor vibrations during civil construction activities.

Access to all commercial buildings and rear fire egress in laneways will be maintained throughout construction. Businesses and residents directly impacted by construction activities will be notified in advance by ENMAX Power Customer Relations team.
