The City of Calgary has requested ENMAX Power to relocate underground electrical utilities associated with ENMAX Substation No. 5 located at 302 10 Avenue SE to accommodate the future Green Line LRT route.
Utility work in the Victoria Park area will occur in various stages beginning directly within Substation No. 5 and surrounding manholes. These manholes tie into Substation No. 5 from 9, 10 and 11 Avenue SE between 1 Street SE and 4 Street SE.
The work includes the following:
Work inside the manholes will impact traffic east of Macleod Trail SE, along 10 Avenue SE. Both vehicle and pedestrian traffic accommodations are in place. The City of Calgary has designated temporary parking stalls on the north side of 10 Avenue SE between Macleod Trail SE and 3 Street SE. These parking stalls can be accessed from Macleod Trail SE (one-way eastbound) and from 3 Street SE (two-way, eastbound and westbound). The stalls are located within an existing 4-hour ParkPlus zone (Zone 2948). This area is identified in the photo below.
Please note, this work could produce various noise levels and minor vibrations during civil construction activities.
Access to all residential and commercial buildings will be maintained throughout construction. Businesses and residents directly impacted by construction activities will be notified in advance by ENMAX Power Customer Relations team.

Work inside ENMAX No. 5 Substation began early September 2018 and will continue along 10 Avenue SE and 3 Street SE until project completion. The public will see an increase in ENMAX utility vehicles in the Victoria Park area for the duration of construction. ENMAX crews will be working in the utility right-of-way located along 10 Avenue SE.
During Stage 1, please expect a restriction on parking east of Macleod Trail SE, along 10 Avenue SE. There is a temporary lane and sidewalk closure on the south side of 10 Avenue SE. Eastbound traffic will be detoured to the north side of 10 Avenue SE.
Access to CPA lot 63B will be restricted during Stage 1 of construction. The Calgary Parking Authority has relocated monthly parking members to a nearby lot located on 9 Avenue SE.
