The City of Calgary has requested ENMAX Power to relocate underground electrical utilities associated with ENMAX Substation No. 5 located at 302 10 Avenue SE to accommodate the future Green Line LRT route.
Utility work in the Victoria Park area will occur in various stages beginning directly within Substation No. 5 and surrounding manholes. These manholes tie into Substation No. 5 from 9, 10 and 11 Avenue SE between 1 Street SE and 4 Street SE.
The work includes the following:
Work inside ENMAX Substation No. 5 will not directly impact businesses or customers. Work inside the manholes will temporarily impact traffic on 10 Avenue SE and the cycle track on 9 Avenue SE and 4 Street SE. Both vehicle and pedestrian traffic accommodations will be in place.
This work could produce various noise levels and minor vibrations during civil construction activities.
Access to all residential and commercial buildings will be maintained throughout construction. Businesses and residents directly impacted by construction activities will be notified in advance by ENMAX Power Customer Relations team.

Work inside ENMAX No. 5 Substation began early September 2018 and will continue within the substation periodically until project completion. The public will see an increase in ENMAX utility vehicles in the Victoria Park area for the duration of construction.
ENMAX crews will be working in the utility right-of-way located along 10 Avenue SE. During stage 1, there will be a restriction on parking along 10 Avenue SE. In addition, there will be a temporary lane and sidewalk closure south of 10 Avenue SE. Eastbound traffic will be detoured north of 10 Avenue SE.
Access to CPA lot 63B will be restricted during stage 1 of construction. The Calgary Parking Authority will relocate monthly parking members to a nearby lot located on 9 Avenue SE.
Please check back regularly for continued project updates. The next phase of this project will be posted in early March 2019.
