← BACK TO DOWNTOWN PROJECTS
The City of Calgary has requested ENMAX Power Corporation (EPC) to relocate existing overhead electrical infrastructure underground to accommodate the ‘37 Street’ and ‘West 17’ Main Streets projects. This relocation ensures the alignment will be ready when the City of Calgary crews begin road construction in July and August of 2020.

Utility work will occur in three areas:
This work will impact both traffic and pedestrian access along the defined streets. Please note, accommodations and traffic signage will be in place. This work commenced in early June 2020 and is anticipated to be complete by September 1, 2020.
Access to commercial buildings will be maintained throughout construction. This work will produce various noise levels and minor vibrations during construction hours. Businesses and residents directly impacted by construction activities will be notified in advance by ENMAX Power Customer Relations team.

Preparation work commenced the week of June 8, 2020. Construction with associated detours is anticipated to commence the week of June 15, 2020. The public will see an increase in ENMAX and Allteck (third party contractor) utility vehicles in the area during construction.
