To ensure that retailers operating in its Calgary settlement zone are qualified, viable business enterprises, ENMAX Power Corporation has instituted a listing process. For more information, contact TRAC or fill out the Retailer Application below.
The listing process consists of three major components:
As described in the
Settlement System Code (AUC Rule 021), retailers and regulated rate providers are responsible for enrollment, including informing ENMAX Power Corporation that they've been chosen as the supplier of electricity services at a particular site. Enrollment is supported through the standard transactions described in the Settlement System Code.
A complete list of services and their associated fees are located in the Fee Schedule of ENMAX Power Corporation's Terms and Conditions. Retailers are financially responsible for all service requests made on behalf of their end use customers. ENMAX Power Corporation will invoice retailers for these services on a monthly basis.
As the Wire Services Provider, ENMAX Power Corporation is responsible for the construction and maintenance of the distribution system infrastructure and all revenue metering equipment installed for the purposes of electricity service in Calgary.
As a Wire Services Provider, our responsibilities are as follows:

ENMAX Power works directly with retailers and in specific circumstances with end-use customers (such as new service construction, system emergencies, and system maintenance like tree trimming). Our role is to distribute electricity and to manage metering, load settlement and retailer wholesale billing.
If you're a retailer wanting to distribute electricity through ENMAX Power's system, there are certain documents you need so that we can provide efficient service to you.

All customers are free to purchase natural gas services from the default supply provider or from a retailer of their choice and to purchase electricity services from the regulated rate provider or from a retailer of their choice. The delivery of natural gas and electricity to you is not affected by your choice. If you change who you purchase natural gas services or electricity services from, you will continue receiving natural gas and electricity from the distribution company in your service area.
