Supporting our Community

Providing safe, reliable energy to homes and businesses is an essential service and a responsibility we don’t take lightly. We know that behind the lights of every home and business are people who power the potential of our communities. That’s why we prioritize our community investment activities and partnerships to help those most in need.

We are proud to support our community partners by investing resources (cash, in-kind and employee time) to make a difference in four key areas:

  • Essential Needs - Families experiencing energy poverty often struggle to overcome the challenges of everyday life and meet their basic needs. We understand the importance of a warm meal, clean clothing and a safe place to sleep. This is why we are passionate about supporting non-profit organizations that help meet these critical basic needs for vulnerable families.
  • Energy Safety, Education & Efficiency - Whether it’s in the classroom or the community, we strive to educate community members about electricity and how it relates to customers, young and old.
  • Enriching Communities - We care about the wellbeing of our communities. We are committed to supporting initiatives that build vibrant communities and organizations that help our customers thrive.
  • Scholarships - We believe strongly in supporting the workforce of tomorrow. As part of this support, ENMAX offers various student scholarships in the areas of environmental leadership, trades, electrical engineering and business.

Except in extraordinary circumstances, our community funding does not support:

  • Individual endeavours
  • Federal, provincial or municipal political representatives, parties and candidates for campaign or party fundraising
  • Fraternal or labour organizations
  • Private foundations or clubs
  • Cannabis-related projects or events
  • Organizations or programs with the principal purpose of advancing religion
  • Lotteries
