At ENMAX, our mission is to power the potential of people, businesses and communities by safely and responsibly providing electricity and energy services in ways that matter to them today and tomorrow.
Our culture of ethics, transparency and integrity guides all that we do, and we continue to take accountability for managing the impact of our business on safety, customer care and environmental stewardship. Our commitment to Corporate Responsibility is driven by our belief that long-lasting value comes from operating in a responsible and sustainable manner.
Increasingly, we’re seeing the vital role that utilities play in evolving and growing our communities. We’ve learned how important it is to be agile and to enable the changing needs of our customers and communities using new technologies, while continuing to provide reliable, cost effective services.

Simply put, governance is about how we make decisions as an organization – assigning authority and accountability to people, determining what information we use to make those decisions and ensuring we have effective processes to help us carry out our work in a way that reflects our corporate values.

In the context of our Corporate Responsibility program, the term "stakeholder" refers to internal and external groups that may be affected by our actions and whose actions have the potential to impact our business decisions. Our key stakeholder groups include our customers, the communities in which we operate, industry peers, our Shareholder and our employees. We regularly survey these groups to understand the areas of our business that have the greatest impact on our stakeholders and ensure we are transparent in how we are managing and/or operating in these areas.
ENMAX also considers these issues material and each are incorporated to our disclosure directly or addressed elsewhere through our corporate reporting.
All customers are free to purchase natural gas services from the default supply provider or from a retailer of their choice and to purchase electricity services from the regulated rate provider or from a retailer of their choice. The delivery of natural gas and electricity to you is not affected by your choice. If you change who you purchase natural gas services or electricity services from, you will continue receiving natural gas and electricity from the distribution company in your service area. For a current list of retailers you may choose from, visit www.ucahelps.gov.ab.ca or call 310-4822 (toll free in Alberta).
