At ENMAX, Corporate Responsibility is not a stand-alone initiative. It's about ensuring transparency and integrity are top of mind in all that we do. We believe in taking accountability for our actions – from providing a safe workplace and award-winning customer service, to playing a meaningful role in our communities and taking responsibility for environmental stewardship. Corporate Responsibility is about our employees, our customers, our stakeholders, our environment, and the economic impact and contribution of our company.
When I look back at 2015, I'm proud of everything the ENMAX team accomplished. We received a rating of "very satisfied" from 83 per cent of customers surveyed, maintained our strong reliability standard, volunteered 2,239 hours in the community, commissioned the Shepard Energy Centre and installed one third of the rooftop solar capacity in Alberta. These are some of the highlights you'll read about here. 2015 was also a challenging year. ENMAX was impacted by uncertain market conditions and changing environmental regulation. What hasn't changed is our unwavering commitment to safely and reliably delivering power to Albertans and providing value to our customers, communities and shareholder, the City of Calgary.
At the end of 2015 we were on track to achieve, or have achieved, all of the performance metrics associated with our five Corporate Responsibility objectives, with the exception of safety. Although recognized by the Canadian Electricity Association's Gold Award for Employee Safety, our safety performance was down in 2015 by our own standards. We are taking steps to improve our results and to ensure we work safely every day.
We recognize that our success is dependent on our ability to operate in a responsible and sustainable manner today and in the future. As we head into a year of economic uncertainty, we will remain agile and strategic and continue to provide safe and reliable electricity and energy solutions while maintaining our commitment to incorporating corporate responsibility considerations into all our business decisions.
