In July 2013, ENMAX Corporation announced a $300,000 commitment to The Aspen Family and Community Network Society and Distress Centre Calgary. Each agency will receive $150,000 over three years to help vulnerable Albertans faced with major life challenges.
The money will be used in various ways, including funding towards an energy specialist for the Aspen Family and Community Network Society who can assist struggling families to better manage their power consumption.
Distress Centre Calgary is planning to use the ENMAX donation to primarily support ongoing training, supervision and development of the volunteers who provide direct frontline support and referrals through the crisis line and find innovative new ways to connect with those in need.
