Lonnie Enns, B.Sc., MBA

Senior Vice President, Power Supply

Lonnie is accountable for ENMAX's electricity generation operations, contracted assets, wholesale commodity trading (electricity, natural gas and environmental attributes) as well as wholesale market design. He holds experience in deregulated power markets across Canada, the U.S. and New Zealand where he developed power supply agreements, tolling arrangements, gas supply agreements as well as led power plant development and acquisitions.

Prior to joining ENMAX, Lonnie held the position of VP of Trading and Marketing and was responsible for the development of trading and marketing strategies, merchant fuel requirements and the management of traders and marketers for TransAlta Corporation.

Lonnie holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering with a minor in computer science from the University of Calgary as well as an MBA from Queens University. He currently serves on the executive committee of the Western System Power Pool and was previously the president of the Energy Risk Management Association of Canada and served on the board of the Independent Power Producers Society of Alberta.
