Robert Page

Dr. Robert Page has been a member of the ENMAX Board of Directors since 2007.  Previously, he was a Director of the Alberta Environmental Monitoring Evaluation and Reporting Agency and Enbridge Centre for Corporate Sustainability, Haskayne School of Business, at the University of Calgary. From 1997 to 2007 he was Vice President of Sustainable Development at TransAlta Corporation and, from 1990 to 1997, he was Dean of the Faculty of Environmental Design at the University of Calgary. He has been active as a consultant to many energy companies on energy and environmental issues as well as regulatory affairs. He is an author and frequent speaker for business conferences in North America and overseas.

Outside of his academic work, Dr. Page chairs the International Environmental Standards Board (ISO 14,000 series – Geneva) and is past chair of the National Round Table on Environment and Economy in Ottawa.  He is a board member of the Canadian Standards Group (Toronto), and two non-profits: Canadian Water Network, and the Royal Canadian Geographical Society.

His research interests include carbon capture and storage, carbon pricing, risk assessment, and voluntary standards. He is the former chair of BIOCAP Canada and the International Emissions Trading Association (Geneva), and is a member of the Business Environment Leadership Council, Pew Centre on Global Climate Change (Washington, DC). He holds a PhD in international relations from Oxford University as well as a BA and MA from Queen's University.
