Ms. Elise Rees is a strategic senior executive with over 35 years' experience in public accounting and in 2015, was recognized as a Top 100 Most Powerful Women in Canada. Ms. Rees has spent eighteen years as a partner with Ernst & Young, LLP with the past 14 years focused on acquisitions, mergers and corporate restructuring. She has a breadth of experience across a variety of industries including mining, energy, infrastructure, construction, real estate, retail and distribution. Ms. Rees has also been the global client-coordinating partner for services to the BC Credit Union Industry.
Ms. Rees is an experienced director, who serves on the Board of Westland Insurance Group Limited, and the Board of Great Panther Silver, a TSX traded international mining company. Ms. Rees has served on the boards of a number of non-for profit organizations, including as board chair, treasurer and audit and finance committee chair. Her experience includes entities in social services, tourism, parking as well as various foundations and the Greater Vancouver Board of Trade.
Ms. Rees has been recognized for her leadership with her Fellow CPA in 2010, Community Builder Award, Association of Women in Finance (2012), Influential Woman in Business Award (2007) and the Ernst & Young Rosemarie Meschi Award for Advancing Gender Diversity (2007). She has been a frequent lecturer and tutor for CPA Canada and the Canadian Tax Foundation.
Ms. Rees has her B.A. (Hons) from the University of Strathclyde, Scotland and is a Fellow Chartered Professional Accountant and Fellow Chartered Accountant.
