ENMAX Power is committed to ensuring the communities we serve are engaged and updated about projects in their neighbourhoods.
ENMAX Power has received approval to alter 936L and 937L by installing a new steel monopole (monopole) near the south end of 13A Street SE and 42 Avenue SE (the Application). This alteration will increase the height of 936L and 937L, allowing ENMAX Power to comply with clearance distance requirements between the transmission lines and existing facilities in the area. Resolving these clearance violations will ensure the safe, reliable and efficient operation of ENMAX Power’s electrical system.
ENMAX Power received project approval on November 18, 2022. Construction is scheduled to commence on December 8, 2022 and is anticipated to take approximately two weeks. The in-service date is expected to be late December 2022.
The new monopole will be approximately 38 meters in height, consistent with the adjacent transmission structures currently in place.
The construction activities will take place near the south end of 13A Street SE and 42 Avenue SE. Temporary access accommodations and road closures may be periodically required during construction. ENMAX Power will work with stakeholders and The City of Calgary to minimize the impact to residences, businesses, and commuters in the area. There are no planned power outages impacting customers as part of the proposed work.
We are committed to being a responsible corporate neighbour. Our commitment includes providing timely and meaningful engagement with stakeholders about our projects and applications. We provide opportunities for stakeholders, including residents, occupants and landowners, to be informed about our projects and applications, and to engage with us at all stages.
