Who is eligible for EasyMax?

What are the benefits of EasyMax?

  • You can enjoy a stable 5-year fixed electricity rate**, or choose the floating electricity rate and get the equivalent of the government regulated rate that fluctuates every month.
  • You get great rates for gas; a floating rate or a 5 year fixed rate.
  • When you buy both your gas and electricity with EasyMax, you will earn $100 in EasyMax Rewards every year*. 
  • If you want to change plans or cancel, there are no penalties and no hassle.  Just give us one month's notice.
  • If your gas is provided by your landlord, or you have another provider, you can still get electricity only provided by EasyMax and enjoy a stable fixed electricity rate**.
  • You're in control of your utility rates because you can choose a plan that's right for you.

What if I am on an existing ENMAX Energy contract?  Can I still sign up for this program?

Absolutely! Any customer who signed up for an ENMAX Energy fixed price contract before October 26th, 2005 can switch to EasyMax.  Be sure to check what rates you're getting now to make sure you make the best choice.

If I'm on a contract for gas only, can I sign up for EasyMax with only electricity?

Yes!  You can sign up for a stable 5-year fixed rate**, or our floating rate. If you'd like, when your gas contract expires, you can add gas to your EasyMax program and you'll begin to receive $100 in EasyMax Rewards* every year!

4.

What happens if I move?

You can transfer EasyMax with you to your new location. Just give us one month's notice that you are moving, provide us with your new Site ID for electricity (and gas if applicable) and we'll take care of the rest.

5.

Can I cancel EasyMax at any time?

Just provide us with one month's notice and we will cancel your EasyMax Agreement.  You will be returned to your local electricity and gas company.

Is there a cost for me to cancel EasyMax?

No, as long as you provide us with one month's notice.  If you can't provide one month's notice, ENMAX Energy will continue to bill you until we are able to return you to your local electricity and gas provider.

How do I know what my gas and electricity rates will be?

View our current rates for gas and electricity in your area online. If you are on a Floating Gas Plan, your rate is calculated according to your meter read dates and will be displayed on your monthly bill.

When will my EasyMax Rewards be credited to my bill?

Your EasyMax Rewards will be applied depending on what you have chosen when you signed up: monthly, annually or upon your request.

What if I changed my mind after I have signed up?

You have the right to cancel within 10 days of the date we receive your completed EasyMax sign up form, or anytime thereafter with just one month's notice.  If cancelling please call 310-2010 and provide the following information: the date you signed your form, full name as it appears on the form, address and phone number.

How can I switch my rate?

It's easy, you can do it online or call us at 310-2010.

How many times can I switch my rate?

For customers on both gas and electricity, you can switch between any of our Fixed Plans and our Floating Plans once per month.  For customers with us for electricity only, you can switch to the 5 year Fixed Plan at any time, or you can choose to add gas to your EasyMax electricity and start receiving $100 in EasyMax Rewards every year*.

If I switch electricity and/or gas suppliers, will there be a disruption to my service?

No, your electricity and/or gas service will continue uninterrupted.

How often will you change your fixed price plans?

EasyMax Fixed Plan rates are subject to change at any time - so it's best to sign up now instead of waiting to see if rates go down. Remember, you can change your rate at any time should plan prices go down. No penalty. No hassle.

14.

Who is eligible for EasyMax?

EasyMax is available for residential and small business customers who use less than 75,000 kWh of electricity annually and less than 2,500 GJ of gas annually. It is not available to customers purchasing electricity for Sites located in certain Rural Electrification Associations or customers purchasing gas for Sites located in a Rural Gas Co-Op, AltaGas territory, or a municipally owned gas utility which has enacted an exclusivity bylaw.
