In Alberta’s deregulated energy market, you can choose your energy retailer and rate plan so you can manage unstable natural gas and electricity prices.
Choosing the right plan from EasyMax® by ENMAX Energy is easy. With EasyMax you choose between the guaranteed electricity and natural gas rate*, guaranteed not to change for up to 5 years or the floating electricity and natural gas rates that change month-to-month with the market.
You can choose whether you want to supply your natural gas and electricity together, or electricity only, plus you can mix and match any electricity rate with any natural gas rate.

Whichever plan you choose, you can switch your energy plan once a month‡ and you’re never locked in, cancel at any time with one month’s notice. ‡ You can switch between fixed and floating rates once per month either online or by contacting ENMAX Energy at 310-2010. If you change plans, your new rate will become effective immediately. You can only change to rates which are available at that time you elect to switch, and you will not be able to switch back to a rate which you previously had if it is no longer available.

5 Year Fixed Electricity
This plan gives you a guaranteed 8.9¢/kWh rate for 5 years (electricity rate does not include an administration fee of an average of $7.10 per month, per site, regulated delivery charges depending on usage and service area, or taxes). The 5-year fixed rate is the most popular rate, chosen by more than 85% of EasyMax customers.
Floating Electricity Rate
This plan follows the market rate plus a transaction fee which can be found at enmax.com/electricityoptions (electricity rate does not include monthly administration fee of an average of $7.10 per month, per site, regulated delivery charges depending on usage and service area, or taxes). The price you will pay for electricity changes month-to-month with the market.
5 Year Fixed Gas Plan
With this plan you pay a fixed rate of $5.99/GJ for 5 years (natural gas rate does not include monthly administration fee of an average of $7.10 per month, per site, regulated delivery charges depending on usage and service area, or taxes). If you like the security of knowing you pay the same rate for natural gas all the time, and no risk of volatility in the price of natural gas, then the fixed rate may be for you.
Floating Gas Plan
This plan is comparable to the current market rates and includes a transaction fee (natural gas rate does not include an administration fee ofan average of $7.10 per month, per site, regulated delivery charges depending on usage and service area, or taxes). The current transaction fee can be found at enmax.com/gasoptions. This is the most popular EasyMax natural gas plan.
