Working With ENMAX Power

Site Energization
Ready for your power to be turned on? Here's how to energize your site.

Planning & Design
Before you begin planning & designing your new development, there are a few things you need to know. We provide servicing guidelines, safety information, and other valuable services such as our joint utility trenching process and our investment policy.

As of June 1, 2009, we have also changed the way we have historically worked with Developers in the City of Calgary. Learn more about our Developer Choice Model and how it will result in an improved level of service.

Projects
As the City of Calgary continues to grow, so does the need for electricity.  In order to maintain reliability and support growing electrical needs, ENMAX Power has a number of infrastructure projects proposed or underway. Read more about ENMAX Power’s projects.

Generator Interconnection
Our generator guidelines, and accompanying documents, are for new or existing customers who want to install a generator. You can take advantage of onsite power generation by applying for grid interconnection of your generator to the ENMAX Power distribution system.

Power Quality
If you're a builder, please ensure that your installation meets our power quality requirements. For more power quality information, please phone us at (403) 514-3700.

Safety Information
Are you aware of power-related safety issues, including calling before you dig, utility right-of-ways and tree/shrub trimming?

For safety reasons, there are restrictions placed on building near overhead powerlines. ENMAX Power adheres to the codes below. We've produced a set of drawings to assist builders in meeting the requirements of these codes in typical situations.

The Electrical and Communication Utility Code for Alberta. Visit the Safety Codes Council for more information.

Right-of-Ways
Are you a homeowner with a utility right-of-way on your property? Our Right-of-Way brochure will explain what this means and what your responsibilities are.
