ENMAX Power owns, operates and maintains the electricity infrastructure in Calgary and some surrounding areas. The company has delivered safe, reliable electrical power to Calgarians for over 100 years. As the City of Calgary continues to grow, so does the need for electricity.
In order to maintain reliability, support growing electrical needs and provide a necessary back-up supply to the newly developed South Health Campus, ENMAX Power and the Alberta Electric System Operator are proposing to construct a substation northwest of Deerfoot Trail S.E. and Township Road 221 and a new transmission line to connect the facility to the existing electrical system.
ENMAX is committed to working with key stakeholders and community members to share information, gather input, and address questions you may have.
Commitment to Community
ENMAX Power is committed to being an excellent corporate neighbour in the community and will provide timely and meaningful consultation with stakeholders about this proposed facility. ENMAX Power will work in a collaborative and responsive manner to share information about the proposed No. 54 Substation project and respond to stakeholder questions and concerns.
A comprehensive public consultation program has been developed to provide opportunities for area residents and interested parties to engage ENMAX Power’s project team about this project from planning through construction and operations. ENMAX Power looks forward to building long-term relationships with the local community.
