ENMAX Power owns, operates and maintains the electricity infrastructure in Calgary and some surrounding areas. The company has delivered safe, reliable electrical power to Calgarians for over 100 years. As the City of Calgary continues to grow, so does the need for electricity.  ENMAX Power recognizes the need for more power in some of Calgary’s newest communities such as Evanston and Panorama Hills.

To meet the growing needs of the community, ENMAX is proposing to build a new electrical substation. We are committed to working with key stakeholders and community members to share information, gather input, and address questions you may have.

Project Need and Benefits
The northwest area of the city has been growing rapidly over the last couple of years and more development is planned. The high growth in the area means there is an increasing demand on the electrical system. The electrical infrastructure in the area will be at full capacity in the near future and a substation is required to continue to provide reliable electricity to the area.

A comprehensive public consultation program has been developed to provide opportunities for interested parties to become engaged in dialogue and information sharing about this project from planning through operations. Through a series of activities including information packages, community open houses, and personal meetings, ENMAX looks forward to building long-term relationships with the local community.
