Accessing Your Meter

Would you rather have us read your meter than to do it yourself every month? If your meter is located in your house or garage or behind a locked gate, we may not be able to access it.

Here's what WE can do:

  • We can keep your key on file - When you give us a house, garage or business key, we keep it secure at all times. For arrangements call 689-7409.
  • We can keep your access code in our computer - If you have a lock on your gate or garage that requires an access number, you can provide us with this access number phone 689-7409. Only authorized ENMAX employees will have access to your code.
  • Hazards

    Here's what YOU can do:

  • Tell us about hazards – If you have a dog on your property or are renovating near your meter, please let us know. With these hazards present, we may have difficulty reading your meter.
  • Remove hazards – Please clear bushes and other obstacles away from your meter. If you plant bushes near your meter, we may not be able to access it.

    In Calgary, please contact us at (403) 514-3830 to discuss or resolve any meter access issues.

    In
     Red Deer, please contact us at (403) 309-4812 or e-mail us on water meter issues.

    If none of these options are viable for you, please remember that you're welcome to take your own meter readings. We'll need to send out a meter reader twice per year to confirm the accuracy of your readings.

    You can choose any retailer listed at at www.ucahelps.gov.ab.ca or at 310-4822. Electricity delivery to your home or business isn't affected by your choice of retailer.
