Unaccounted for Energy (UFE) represents loads that are neither metered, profiled or allocated as losses. UFE accounts for meter inaccuracies, possible theft, an error in loss adjustment or profile creation and estimation variances.
UFE is calculated for each hour as the system load total for the hour minus the sum of the allocated hourly loads for each site, plus their allocated losses.
UFE is attributed to individual sites based on their energy usage as a percentage of the entire zone usage.
UFE Tolerance Rules are described in the Settlement System Code. For UFE percentages that fall outside of the UFE tolerance rules, the UFE Reasonableness Exception Report is updated to communicate the reason for the variances.
