Solar Photovoltaic (PV) panels are panels that convert the sun’s energy into electricity. There are different types of PV panels, differentiated largely by the manufacturing process, materials used, and end function. For example, some PV panels are designed to specifically replace concrete roof tiles.
The following figure shows a typical solar PV installation. The solar PV panels convert energy from the sun into electricity, normally in DC (direct current) form. The solar inverter converts DC output into AC (alternating current) form for regular residential and commercial use. |
