1.

What is green power?

Green power is energy produced from resources that are replenished naturally with minimal harm to the environment. Green power is cleaner because it produces little or no air pollution or greenhouse gas emissions. Green power sources include wind, solar, hydro (falling water) and biomass (burning plant materials and waste).

2.

How is wind converted into electricity?  Can i still sign up for this program?

Wind systems use large blades mounted on tall towers or turbines. The wind spins the blades, rotating a generator that produces electricity.

This program is still available for sign up.

3.

When I buy Greenmax, how is it delivered to my house?

The actual electrons coming through your outlets are not the same ones generated by Vision Quest wind turbines. ENMAX Energy uses your monthly Greenmax premium to offset the costs associated with the development of wind power. This power is then made available to consumers through the Alberta Electric System Operator.

4.

Is the Greenmax Club still in effect?

No, as of June 30th, 2007, our Greenmax Club, including the newsletter and discounts, has been cancelled. We are currently developing a new, more robust Greenmax program to benefit all our Greenmax customers throughout Alberta. We’ll be announcing our new enhanced program this fall. We’d like to thank all our partners for their support and dedication to providing valuable promotional offers to our customers.
