ENMAX Corporation is pleased to announce the start of construction on the Calgary Downtown District Energy Centre. The heat generating facility is expected to provide heating to up to 10 million square feet of new and existing residential and commercial buildings in Calgary's downtown core.
Media representatives are invited to the future site of the Calgary Downtown District Energy Centre on September 11, 2008 where ENMAX President and CEO Gary Holden will be joined by the MLA for Calgary-Fort, Wayne Cao, and City of Calgary Aldermen Druh Farrell and Bob Hawkesworth in a special groundbreaking ceremony.
The Centre is part of the multi-phase Calgary District Energy Project which will provide heating to municipal-owned and selected future downtown buildings through a network of underground insulated pipes.
