Over the past few weeks there’s been considerable public debate about Alberta’s energy situation. The province is in need of additional infrastructure to meet growing demand for electricity, and ENMAX Energy is one of the companies addressing that need.
Media representatives are invited to the future site of the Crossfield Energy Centre on July 23, 2008 where ENMAX President and CEO Gary Holden will be joined by the MD of Rocky View Reeve Lois Habberfield, Deputy Reeve Greg Boehlke and the Mayor of Crossfield, Phil McCracken in a special sod-turning ceremony.
The Crossfield Energy Centre will be a 120 MW natural gas-fired peaking facility. It is designed to meet periods of peak electrical demand and is expected to operate about 15 to 45 per cent of the time to help stabilize the province’s southern transmission grid.
