Media representatives are invited to attend the ninth season opening of "Pond Hockey by ENMAX Energy" on Wednesday, January 9. This fun and exciting grassroots program offers local community children at the atom level (ages 9 to 10 years) the chance to learn game enhancing skills and to take to the ice with their local heroes in pursuit of their hockey dreams. Leo the Lion (the Edmonton Oil Kings mascot), players from the Oil Kings, Minor Hockey coaches and ENMAX representatives will be at Sherwood Park's Strathcona Athletic Park to kick off the new season.
This season, ENMAX Energy Corporation's popular children's hockey program will visit 17 communities throughout Alberta, providing young Alberta hockey players with the opportunity to skate alongside WHL or NHL hockey celebrities. "Pond Hockey by ENMAX Energy" continues to play an important role in the development of young hockey players throughout the province and is tangible evidence of the corporation's commitment to youth and community pride. This program is presented in partnership with the Edmonton Oil Kings, Minor Hockey and Astral Radio Edmonton.
