Media Advisory: Is There an Energy Supply Crisis? ENMAX President and CEO Weighs in on the Debate
For Immediate Release
Calgary
3 Jun 2008

Amid recent allegations by some industry players of potential electricity supply crises, it is clear that this industry is facing serious issues. All media are invited to attend as ENMAX Corporation President and CEO Gary Holden weighs in on the topic in a speech at the Calgary Chamber of Commerce on June 4th entitled “Reliably Expanding our Energy Supply: Is There a Crisis?”

Not only are the costs of infrastructure and fuels rising steeply (and more so than many realize), but the social and environmental acceptability of traditional methods of operation is falling sharply.

What is to be done? Continuing down traditional paths is increasingly problematic with no new “silver bullet” solutions on the horizon.

In his speech, Gary Holden will not only analyze the root causes and key drivers of the present situation; he will also look at the technological, economic, environmental and social characteristics of the way forward for a troubled industry.
