ENMAX Energy Corporation secured a $35 million, five year contract to supply electricity to thirty-five school boards across Alberta, which means ENMAX maintains its position as the supplier of choice for more than 50% of schools across the province.
“ENMAX was selected by the School Board Purchasing Group (SBPG) based on a competitive procurement process that included factors such as price, service and invoice preparation,” said Bruce Moltzan, Secretary Treasurer Peace River School Division and Chairman of SBPG Steering Committee. “Considering all factors, ENMAX’s offer was the most competitive and we look forward to working with them in implementing this purchase.”
EDC Associates Ltd. of Calgary, Alberta administered the competitive selection process on behalf of the School Boards. “Working with the School Boards and electricity suppliers was both challenging and rewarding” said Duane Reid-Carlson, President of EDC Associates Ltd. "The process in which ENMAX was successful is clear evidence competition in the Alberta electricity market is working and can provide value to the consumer."
“I am very pleased the school boards selected ENMAX as their preferred supplier. These schools are located all across Alberta and we are proud to be bringing value for money and customer service to all corners of our province,” said Gary Holden, President and CEO, ENMAX Corporation. “This is a good example of how we continue to develop competitive, long-term solutions to meet customers’ energy needs.”
