How do wind turbines work?
When wind is caught in a turbine's blades, it turns a shaft that spins a generator. Turbines are mounted on towers to capture fast-blowing winds.

For hundreds of years, wind has been harvested into a commercial product. Today, the interest in this technology is dramatically increasing worldwide. The reasons to support green power include preventing smog, acid rain and greenhouse gases from entering the atmosphere.

How is wind energy created?
Take a quick video tour of a turbine or a more-detailed wind energy reading tour. We can also direct you to links on wind turbines, which include facts about construction, operations and environmental benefits.
