On August 26, 2011, ENMAX Energy Corporation (ENMAX) received AUC approval to construct and operate the Bonnybrook Energy Centre, a proposed 165 MW generation facility adjacent to the Canada Malting Corporation.

The Bonnybrook Energy Centre is scheduled to begin operations in 2014, supplying electricity to the grid and thermal energy to customers in the nearby area.
