ENMAX Energy is proposing to build and operate a 165 megawatts (MW) natural gas-fired co-generation facility located on the Canada Malting site at 3316 Bonnybrook Road SE in Calgary. The Bonnybrook Energy Centre will be a cogeneration or combined heat and power (CHP) facility which generates electricity and captures and uses otherwise wasted heat energy by-products. The facility is scheduled to be generating electricity in early 2013.
ENMAX Energy has been working with the local community to share information about the Bonnybrook Energy Centre Project since June 2009. ENMAX Energy hosted two open houses on December 2 and 3, 2009 to provide an opportunity for stakeholders to provide feedback on the Bonnybrook Energy Centre Project plan and ask questions of our project team. Materials presented at the open house are available in our important documents.
ENMAX Energy has developed a detailed video rendering of the Bonnybrook Energy Facility so stakeholders can review the existing landscape of the proposed site and how it will change. The video, which was developed from the engineering plot plan, depicts the facility to-scale and from a variety of views.
Commitment to Community
ENMAX Energy is committed to being an excellent corporate neighbour in the community and will provide timely and meaningful consultation with stakeholders about this proposed facility. ENMAX Energy will work in a collaborative and responsive manner to share information about the proposed Bonnybrook Energy Centre and listen to, understand and address stakeholder concerns.
A comprehensive public consultation program has been developed to provide opportunities for interested parties to become engaged in dialogue and information-sharing about this project from planning through operations. Through a series of activities including information packages, community open houses, and personal meetings ENMAX Energy looks forward to building long-term relationships with the local community.
