The proposed project site is located in the Municipal District (MD) of Rocky View, just south of the Town of Crossfield and approximately 10 km north of the City of Airdrie, between Highways 2 and 2A (NW1/4-13-28-1 W5). The proposed site is directly east of an existing natural gas processing plant. The total facility “footprint” will be approximately 3 – 5 acres.
This site was previously considered by Hunt Power Company for the development of a larger base load natural gas-fired generation facility (345 MW) in 2002.
